Have you ever heard the expression "You get what you pay for"? Sure Fountain of Youth doesn't cost any mana to cast, but it’s an extremely slow and ineffective way to gain life, especially if you play green or white. Plus it ties up 2 mana every time you want to use it. Ponce De Leon, the Chester Copper Pot of the 16th Century, would never have bothered to discover Florida if this is what the real fountain of youth did.
