Ah the 80s. A movie era filled to the brim with ninjas and an unfortunate stereotype of Asians with cameras. During this decade one movie stands out that combined imagination with video games. And why not? The electronic world pretty much soared during this decade. That movie is Cloak and Dagger. We at Old-Wizard saw this movie when we were the same age as Davey Osborne was in the film, and we didn’t really understand what the game was back then. Nonetheless we frequently wondered: why wasn’t this game ever made a reality? Personally, and professionally, we would of much rather have played Cloak and Dagger than Pong. A spy who grabs a secret case, gets on an elevator to reach the next “level”? Genius. Just picture yourself racing against the clock dodging the woman with missing fingers with the help of your imaginary friend (also your father) and ultimately diffusing a bomb as you’re hurling down the tarmac. A good spy movie/video game.
A few questions of this movie do remain. What military game was our star constantly playing, and how did that spooky woman lose her fingers?
Remember the Alamo!
